Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Their pizza is just plain awesome! I grew up and lived in Chicago (actual Chicago not a suburb) for 28 years. After moving to the burbs it was hard to find good pizza and this is it, I finally found it. Yummy!!

I miss George :( I believe the receipe has changed... something is not right. Pizza King was "The Place" for pizza carry out in the 90's, thru early 00's. Sorry, but I don't go there anymore.

Pizza King has been my favorite pizza since I was a kid. Perfect crust with the edges. A true treat in the area.

Pizza King pizza is the pizza I measure everything else up to. I have moved out of the Chicagoland area about six years ago and since that time I have been on a mission to find a pizza place that fills that void. So far nothing measures up. When I go back to Chicago to visit, I always make it a point to go to Pizza King at least once while I am there.

I knew I should have taken Yelp's word for this place over my friends. $33 for an 18" with two toppings?!! That's ridiculous. I don't even know how it became $33! I've added it up and it doesn't match their website authored by a toddler. The place was a joke, total hole in the wall. I couldn't tell if I was walking into a pizza place or an auto parts distributor. The sauce is nothing to write home about. I asked for extra sauce and there was barely any on there. The pizza was the greasiest I've ever tasted. It wasn't terrible, but not worth $33 by far. All in all, I can't recommend this place nor will they ever get a dollar more from me. Go somewhere else if you want better quality pizza for much cheaper.

I'm done now. Ignorant awful service and rude owner is just to much. Decided I wanted pizza tonight and it's just a continuation of the same thing. Never again. Small, local, family owned Italian place down the street with very good pizza and food that appreciate your business shall remain unnamed but that's where I got my pizza from tonight and from now on. Another lost customer pizza king

It's just ok, anyone who answers the phone here is consistently rude, all of them. Sometimes it's good and warm other times it's cold. If it wasn't for a lack of pizza options around this area I'd probably never order from here.

Shithole. Should be condemned. Have a roll of paper towels on hand to soak up grease and make pizza edible.

  • James M.

My family and I loved this pizza and used to order from there all the time. We used to recommend this place to everyone we talked to about pizza. Then last night I called for a pretty large order, but ended up canceling it due to the owner having a fit on the phone because I asked to pay with a credit card. I will never give any more of my money to this business! Nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone else.

I have ordered from here a few times in the past and I never thought it was anything special. I judge most pizzas on the quality of the breeding, cheese and the freshness of the ingredient and how they were prepared. Pizza King does have a good dough recipe but unfortunately the quality of their cheese and ingredient is subpar. The cheese is very poor quality and will leave pools of grease on your pizza. When I have ordered veggie pizzas from here in the past the ingredients were not properly dried out before being baked leaving my pizza unstable and wet. There better places in town.

I grew up in New Lenox, and had been seeing this place since '93! I finally tried this pizza a little while back, and I have no clue why I hadn't ever tried it before? It's a pretty good pizza with a good amount of cheese on top, and the toppings are plentiful. A word of caution, I really didn't care for the bacon on their pizza, and I usually love bacon and pepperoni on mine. Next time I'm getting a good old plain pepperoni pizza to get a real taste for it.

The owner is a greedy, mean person. Do Not order here. He will not succeed as a business person. No customer skills. Refused a discount on a pizza that was 2 hours late on delivery. Been ordering for over 35 years and when a new delivery person can't find me, he acts like a jerk. Order at least 2 times a week, and never had trouble till last year.

Pizza was very good but the beef and fries were nasty both were way too salty paid with my debit didn't like the fact that they didn't ask me if I would like to leave a tip for the delivery man so if you don't tell to add one there is no other way to put it on later

Great pizza! They pile on the toppings. Awesome crust!

Been going to Pizza King since it opened, Great pizza, has become a little greasy lately, but might be just a different brand of cheese. You won't be disappointed otherwise. Dave

Ordered from here many times, and each time the quality seems to decline. Most recently, I called and asked if they were running any specials or deals. The owner told me he didn't have the time to read the menu to me and to call back when I figured out what I want. Pretty sure that's the last time we will ever be calling on this place.

Pizza King USED to be the staple in the Joliet / New Lenox area that all other pizzas were judged by. They were the King of pizzas but now, absolute garbage and saying it's garbage is a understatement. My parents ordered a large cheese and sausage tonight, nothing special. We picked it up, it was luke warm at best, the cheese wasn't even melted all the way through and it tasted horrible. We each ate half a slice then threw it all away. I guess that's what you get when you have kids making food that know nothing about what they're making. I don't know what happened to this place. Ever since I was a kid this was the go-to place on a weekend. The person who rang us out was a real asshole because we needed to pay with a credit card. Sorry we took time out of your busy day of making sub par prison food to swipe a card. Word of mouth advertising is key to a business and I really hope this so-called pizza place fails. They'll actually being doing themselves a favor. Do yourself a favor and go to Jewel and get yourself a frozen Tombstone or Jack's and cook it. It'll taste better than this garbage they're throwing out the door.

After living downtown for 9 years, I still find myself driving back to New Lenox to pick up Pizza King at least once a year. Best American style thin crust I've found.
